A stunning house plant that is hardy, low maintenance and requires very little water. Easy! In fact, they are more likely to die of fuss than neglect! Cold and too much water are the major threats.

The shiny, waxy leaves are divided into a number of smaller leaflets. The foliage is upright, gradually arching as it ages.

Plant in a well drained, good quality potting mix. Water to establish and then allow the soil to dry out before watering again in spring and summer. In winter, allow the soil to dry out before watering again. They have underground rhizomes in which they store water.

Place in a bright light position indoors or on your patio. Use a diluted liquid fertiliser in spring and summer.

Zanzibar Gem can be grown outdoors as and understory pr shade plant in a well drained soil. The location needs to be frost free and should not receive too much water.

While grown in Africa for hundreds of years, it has only been in cultivation since the mid 1990’s where it has rapidly increased in popularity to become a well known, popular indoor plant. It acts as a great air purifier indoors, removing toxins such as xylene, toluene and benzene.

The summer flowers are similar to Monsteriosa but a little less showy, this plant is primarily grown for foliage.
