The shiny, waxy leaves are divided into a number of smaller leaflets. The foliage is upright, gradually arching as it ages.
A stunning for a house plant that is hardy, low maintenance and requires very little water. Easy! In fact, they are more likely to die of fuss than neglect! Cold and too much water are the major threats.
Plant in a well drained, good quality potting mix. Water to establish and then allow the soil to almost dry out before watering again. In winter, allow the soil to dry out before watering again. Take outdoors occasionally to freshen up. Place in a bright light position indoors or on your patio. Use a diluted liquid fertiliser in spring and summer. Clean the leaves with a damp cloth.
Zanzibar Gem can be grown outdoors in a well drained soil in semi shade, the location needs to be frost free and should not receive too much water.
