This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

The flowers of Sonatini Alaska are bright white with a green centre. Also sold as Alasca.
Cold hardy Hippeastrums with a tropical feel.
Each Sonatini Hippeastrum bulb will produce two or three stems. Each stem will bloom with up to four or five blooms. The longer the bulbs have to establish the more blooms you will be rewarded with. Each flower is 6-12cm across.
Sonatini Hippeastrums are relatively new to Australia and they are taking it by storm. They are a little smaller than your average Hippeastrum, can be grown across all our climates and are hardy in cool climates.
These Dwarf Hippeastrums will grow in thrive in cool climates to -15°C! So Southern states can leave the bulbs in the ground, so easy. In these areas they are semi evergreen, Sonatini Hippeastrums will remain evergreen in the Northern states.
Of course, like all Hippeastrums they can be grown in pots where they can be bought indoors for display.
When growing in the garden, plant Sonatini Hippeastrums in a sunny spot in a well drained soil. They aren't too fussy but will benefit with an application of slow release fertiliser annually in spring.
