The flowers open along strong stems which tower above the compact foliage. The blooms are a rich indigo blue and have a velvet sheen.
The foliage forms a dense, tidy mound below the blooms. It is a condensed and better behaved form of the legendary Salvia 'Indigo Spires' which has been hugely popular for many years.
