Soft, lilac blue flowers with complimentary golden stigma. The blooms have a wonderful silver sheen. A small cluster of narrow, deep green leaves surround the blooms of Woodland Crocus. Each leaf has a single, silver stripe.
Woodland Crocus, as the name suggests are more tolerant of shade than most Crocus varieties. Crocus as ideal for lawn plantings because their foliage is so understated and tidy. It dies back quickly so you can mow without a worry.
Crocus grow best in Cool to Mediterranean climates where they look best in rockeries, beds, lawns and pots. Plant into a well drained soil. Crocus will tolerate light shade, such as under deciduous trees, especially in more temperate zones.
Crocus bulbs don`t need to be lifted every year, so you can allow them to naturalise and only dig and divide after four or five years. It is a good idea to protect new growth from slugs and snails. Fertilise your Crocus annually in spring.
