Chinese Wild Ginger
Shady characters.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

The beautiful, heart shaped foliage has a decorative, silver marbling. The large leaves look right at home in a shady border or woodland garden.
The flowers are pretty amazing. They are deep purple black with white and look like Pandas. While they are hidden beneath the leaves, if you grow them in pots you can lift them to eye level and enjoy. If they are grown in the garden, prune a little foliage to show them off.
Plant Chinese Wild Ginger (Asarum splendens) in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Neutral to acid PH is preferred. Ideally, plant in semi shade to filtered light. Protect the leaves from slugs and snails.
The common name comes from the Rhizomes, which smell like ginger. Asarum grow well where Cyclamen and Hostas grow well.
