Thalictrum Meadow Rue

Soft, lilac pink blooms open freely atop narrow, red stems. The flowers have protruding, decorative, cream stamens. The long lasting flowers put on a spectacle for many weeks. The show does not stop there though, the flowers are followed by ornamental, dark purple seed pods.

Their elegant form is stand out in borders. It is a top plant to add height and allure to beds and borders.

The maiden fern like leaves of Meadow Rue open along the stems but not quite all the way to the blooms.

The blooms of Meadow Rue are lovely in floral arrangements.

Plant Meadow Rue (Thalictrum) in a full sun to semi shade position. Plant into well drained, humus rich, moist soil. Water to establish then keep moist when actively growing. Place out of strong winds or be prepared to stake. Cut back once flowering has finished and they become untidy. You can allow seeds to drop if you would like to increase your clump.
