Single pink flowers open in abundance from autumn through to winter. The pretty blooms have an appealing, sweet fragrance. Each flower measures around 5cm across. A rare Camellia that is very garden worthy.

The foliage is lush, dark green and glossy. Plant Camellia 'Minato-No-Akebono' in the ground or in a pot.

Grow in well drained, slightly acidic soil. Improve soil conditions by adding organic matter, such as dynamic lifter, or any well-rotted animal manure. This will not only help with water retention, but will also improve drainage.

In Japan, Camellia has two meanings: one means "tree" and the other means "spring". Camellia is considered as the herald of spring. In China, Camellias have often been reproduced on chinaware, on lacquered woods or on folding screens. As a symbol, Camellia denotes luck and happiness.
