Great flowers for picking.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Fully double, yellow, pompom like flowers. Hollyhocks add a delightful old world charm to the garden and are easily grown.
Hollyhock grows well in any soil with good drainage. Hollyhock likes a full sun position and should be sheltered from strong winds. Grow Hollyhock in garden beds, borders or containers.
The upright stems provide your garden with good vertical interest. They grow vigorously and should be fertilised in spring and summer. Keep just moist when growing. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot.
Hollyhock have rounded lobed leaves that grow all along the strong stems.
Remove spent flowers and add some fertiliser to encourage a second flush of blooms and promote a healthy plant. Allow the second round of flowers to set seed for future generations.
The botanic name, Alcea originated from the plant species use in medicine. It comes from Altheo which means to heal or to cure.
