Habanero Chillies were once the hottest in the world, now they have been scaled down, but don't underestimate them, they are still rather hot. It rates 300 000 plus on the Scoville Units.
Habanero Chillies are not only hot, they also have a lovely fragrance and distinctive flavour.
In the garden, Chillies like it hot! Plant in a sunny spot in fertile, well drained soil. When the plants are young, pinch out the growing tips to encourage a bushy plant. Chillies also grow well in containers. In pots, use a good quality potting mix and add a liquid fertiliser every other week to keep them fruiting.
Water to establish and keep moist in active growth. Harvest your Chillies frequently, as you do more will be produced. Pick as they ripen as they don't ripen off the plant.
