Well known in sauce, these Chillies are hot to trot. They have a hot, smokey flavour. As they ripen the Chillies colour from yellow through to orange then finally red. They are small fruits.
Tabasco Chillies rate 50-80,000 Scoville Scale units. It produces prolific fruit. They fruits are long and narrow, 3-4cm.
In the garden, Chillies like it hot! Plant in a sunny spot in fertile, well drained soil. When the plants are young, pinch out the growing tips to encourage a bushy plant. Chillies also grow well in containers. In pots, use a good quality potting mix and add a liquid fertiliser every other week to keep them fruiting.
Water to establish and keep moist in active growth. Harvest your Chillies frequently, as you do more will be produced. Pick as they ripen as they don't ripen off the plant.
