Chinese Fairy Bells Green Giant

Lush, green, tropical style foliage for a shaded spot. The foliage is adorned with fragrant flowers and ornamental berries.

The flowers open clusters at the end of the branches in spring. They are a soft green to cream with a nice fragrance. They are followed by glossy purple black fruit (inedible).

Endemic to woodland areas of China it thrives in semi shade in moist, humus rich soils. It will gradually colonise through underground rhizomes to form a small clump. Disporum 'Green Giant' has bamboo like stems that emerge pink and cream before aging to green.

It is semi evergreen but we recommend you cut it back late in winter so the new spring growth can shine.
