Upright hairy stems with hairy leaves, and even hairy flowers! The violet blooms grow 2-5 cm long, opening at the ends of the stems.
Hairy Penstemon is an open sub shrub* with a casual, easy nature. The mid green leaves grow low on the stems. It is a native wildflower of North America.
Plant Hairy Penstemon in poor, to moderately fertile, well drained soil. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low.
