An amazing twist on colour, the green petals have a prominent maroon blush radiating from the centre. A sturdy, upright plant of strong, thick stems with plenty of flowers.

Echinacea's or Coneflowers are great plants for adding a pops of colour throughout summer and into autumn. The vibrant, daisy like blooms are held aloft on strong stems. The seed heads to stand for winter interest.

The blooms make good cut flowers both fresh and dried. The hairy leaves grow towards the base of the plant.

Echinacea grows best in full sun. They prosper in a well drained soil that is moderately fertile to humus rich. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low. They become dry tolerant as they establish.
