A spectacular and vigorous newcomer that is sure to sell out. A cloud of lightly fragrant, delicate blue blooms over fine, airy foliage. The flowers put on a dreamy spring show and will then repeat in autumn and winter.
Corydalis ‘Porcelain Blue’ is sensational in rock gardens or shaded borders and is a knockout in pots.
The finely divided leaves are a standout year round. They will grow to form a soft mound of grey-green foliage that looks elegant year round. In autumn, it gets even better when it takes on a bronze blush.
Corydalis ‘Porcelain Blue’ grows best in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Grow in a morning sun, afternoon shaded position such as beneath trees or shrubs. Water in and keep fairly moist, they don’t like to dry out during active growth. The flowers are a magnet for bees and other beneficial garden insects.
Most of these Corydalis species are summer dormant, but this variety remains evergreen, it does slow down a bit over summer but, if you make the effort to keep the water up to them, the blooms will be there for you.
Suitable for growing in pots, but you will need to ensure you water well, as potting mix is perfectly drained and don’t forget to add some fertiliser.
Cool to Temperate
