Winter Rose Gold Bullion
Worth its weight.

The glorious, fine golden foliage glitters through spring then matures to a handsome chartreuse shade. The chartreuse flowers stand tall above the foliage and last for many months. It is wonderful in sun or semi shade borders and quite at home in pots – it likes much more sun than the H. orientalis. Teamed with purple foliage it is dynamite.
Winter Rose ‘Gold Bullion’
Simple to plant and grow, Winter Roses will flower for decades without fuss. These amazing evergreen perennials offer a lasting floral display from winter to spring. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Remove spent foliage and flowers to tidy, as the botanical name ‘foetidus’ suggests there is an unpleasant odour when the foliage is crushed, so you may notice this as you prune.
The long lasting flowers measure 5-8cm across and open so freely there is always plenty extra for picking – which is a real boon in winter. You can pop them in a vase, or another nice way to display them is floating in a bowl as a table centrepiece.
