A beautiful introduction with an enchanting fragrance. It has taken out silver at the National Rose Trials and the People’s Choice in 2019.
This Floribunda rose is from the Kordes Parfuma collection and rates 5/5 on our perfume scale. It has strong floral notes as well as tones of apple, litchi, citrus, geranium and spice. The perfume is most intense from the afternoon to evening. *** See below for full perfumer notes.
The fully double, mauve pink flowers bloom abundantly on the compact, dark green foliage. Growing 80cm x 50cm it can fit almost anywhere with a nice upright habit.
Would any other Rose smell as sweet? Tesselaar has selected this Rose variety especially for its fragrance, you can rest assured it is also vigorous, hardy and disease resistant.
Rose bushes are upright, elegant shrubs that are adorned twice a year with spectacular, showy blooms.
The basics of rose care are simply ...
1. Keep the plants moist at all times, but never allow the roots to sit in water.
2. Feed generously, and frequently, two or three times over the flowering season.
3. Keep pests to a minimum (this is usually not a problem if you start with a strong variety, and keep it well watered and well fed).
4. Prune back once a year.
5. Keep the area around the roots weed free, and ensure 4-6 hours of sun per day. Loamy soils are ideal, though Roses will grow in heavy top soils (if well drained) and sandy soils (if kept watered and fed more frequently). For Roses to thrive, good drainage is critical.
*** The Kordes Perfumer description -
This rich and complex fragrance will welcome you with citric-fruity chords of litchi and apple in the head note. The heart note is mild and round. It will change into a creamy-soapy chord of geranium and fill the nose with a soft rose scent. The base surprises with a slightly savoury flavour. The mixture of tingling, slightly sharp flavour reminds of earthy notes and patchouli. This very interesting aspects will give the certain specialness to the constant floral character of this fragrance.
