Delphinium 'Princess Caroline'
New in 2024.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Sure to be a sell out. Stunning, semi double, coral pink florets ready to put on a show. A medium Delphinium with stout stems and elegant, low growing foliage it is hard to say no to.
Delphinium ‘Princess Caroline’ (Odabar) petals are streaked in red adding to the depth of colour.
Leading lights in summer borders, Delphiniums provide towers of sensational colour for up to six weeks, and can then repeat into autumn.
The ostentatious flowers open over a tidy mound of soft, divided foliage. These floral stems are fantastic for cutting and will last well.
Grow Delphiniums in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. As Delphiniums grow quickly it is a good idea to add fertiliser to help them flower to their best potential.
Plant Delphiniums in morning rather than afternoon sun to enjoy longer lasting flowers. For the best impact, Delphiniums are best planted in groups of three or more, they can also add support for each other. Best protected from strong winds with the option of staking.
As the first round of blooms wanes, cut spent flowers off at the base and add a little fertiliser to encourage a second bloom in autumn.
It is a good idea to protect your Delphiniums from slugs and snails who find them delicious. Try a dish of beer to tempt them away (snails enjoy a tipple) or a myriad of other options to guard against their attack. Interestingly rabbits show no interest in them.
