Tulip Tree
Both the flowers and leaves resemble Tulips.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

We have had one in our garden for over fifty years and it is fabulous. The summer shade is sensational, the flowers are attention grabbing, the autumn colour is gorgeous, and the leaves mulch on our garden through winter.
The mid green foliage turns a beautiful, golden yellow in autumn.
Everything about this tree is Tulip related! Tulip shaped flowers open spring to summer with a green cup or tulip shape. The 'petals' are orange at the base, blending to a green tip. Once the flowers have finished they leave behind a brown seed head that also has a Tulip bud shape. The flowers open toward the top of the tree. The tree will take 5-7 years to flower.
It is both from the flowers and the foliage that the Liriodendron tulipifera gets it botanical and common name.
A fast growing shade tree with an attractive conical shape. Tulip Trees are an excellent choice for large, shade trees. The bark of Liriodendrons is grey brown and deeply fissured.
