A rare, ornate Sarracenia with white, standing foliage to 25cm. The leaves have a decorative red veined pattern.
Plant your Pitcher Plant into boggy soil or a container that sits in a tray of water. Plant at the same depth as it comes in the pot, they will gradually spread to 1m or the limit of the container. They are swamp plants, so need to be constantly moist during growth. In cool weather, they will become semi dormant and they should be kept just moist at this time. Lime free water, from a tank or rainwater is best.
Grow in a bright light position out of direct sunlight. They will attract a variety of insects including ants, flies to wasps. They lure them into their tubular foliage, where they are trapped by the sticky nectar. The plant then ingests the insects as absorbs the nutrients.
