Sanguinea is the most frost tolerant of all the Brugmansia. You will have flowers for most of the year, stopping only through the hot summer months when the buds tend to dry up. Drought tolerant once established.

The blooms have no fragrance but make up for it in a long, abundant bloom season.

Brugmansia are easy to grow ornamental shrubs that establish quickly with abundant trumpet shaped blooms and lush foliage. Established Brugmansia shrubs have masses of pendant trumpet shaped flowers that bloom for months, they are simply stunning.
Brugmansia are commonly known as Angel's Trumpets for their beauty and heavenly fragrance. Brugmansia are fast growing shrubs that bring a touch of the exotic to your garden. They will flower for most of the year in warm climates and only stop blooming in autumn and winter in cool climates. The flowers of Brugmansia are most fragrant at night as they are pollinated by moths.
Brugmansia are easy to grow plants and don't require much care. They will only need pruning if they become too large for their lot or you would like to shape them into a tree. Plant your Brugmansia in full sun to part shade in cool climates. In warmer climates, morning sun or part shade is best.
Brugmansia grow well in pots. Choose a large container and fill it with good quality, well draining potting mix. Keep the pot moist during active growth and add a liquid fertiliser every other week. If you live in a cold climate, growing your Brugmansia in pots means you can easily protect them from harsh frosts.
Protect your young Brugmansia shrubs from slugs and snails. You should also keep an eye out for Aphids and treat with your choice of insecticide.
