A hardy cultivar with handsome, evergreen foliage. The leaves are a striking mix of deep green and cream. It will grow to form a generous clump.
The soft, purple blue flowers bloom on occasion, followed by attractive orange red seeds autumn to winter. But it is for the foliage that t Iris foetidissima is grown, as the blooms can be unreliable.
Plant Iris foetidissima in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Add a well balanced fertiliser in spring. Grows well in full sun and part shade.
Plant Iris foetidissima in beds and borders, along fence lines, in containers, almost anywhere!
