Peruvian Lilies or Alstroemeria are a flower lover's dream. They are the perfect solution for reliable garden colour. These wonderful bloomers flower for many months each year. We love them for garden flowers and they also last well cut for vases. The narrow, mid green foliage grows along the stem similar to that of Lilies.
Plant Peruvian Lilies in well drained, humus rich soil. Choose a sunny location. Water to establish and then ensure you keep them moist when in flower, so they keep on blooming and blooming. Add some mulch around the roots as the foliage emerges to help with water retention. Once Peruvian Lilies are established they are fairly trouble free, you just need to make sure you protect new foliage from slugs and snails.
The tubers spread to form decent clumps up to 1m across. They should be left in the ground to naturalise and only divided as they become overcrowded and flowering is affected. The tubers need to be planted as soon as they are received. Orders including Alstroemeria are sent February onward.
