Salvia Clary Sage
Big impact.
In stock

Clary Sage is big on impact. From bud to bloom, the show can endure for up to five months. The buds resemble hops, and the bracts are white, surrounding mauve pink flowers. It is these bracts that provide the bulk of the show.
The rough, aromatic leaves are mid green and grow to around 23cm long opening to around half way up the stems.
Grow Clary Sage in a sunny location in well drained soil. Salvias are dry tolerant once established, they look wonderful in beds, borders or dry gardens. They have a vigorous growth and are easy care. Beneficial insects and birds flock to these blooms.
Dead head spent flowers on Salvias, after the first flush to encourage re-bloom and a perennial nature. Seeds are viable and they are biennial.
This Saliva is not just ornamental. It can be used to flavour dishes. It is also used by the perfume industry for its sclareol resin.
