Winter Iris Blue Stripe

A striking effect is achieved with these unusual blooms. The pale mauve-blue flowers are overlaid with deeper blue stripes. The flowers are slightly fragrant and they continue to flower from winter until spring. Easy by nature and a good variety to grow in more difficult garden spaces.

Winter Iris is a tough evergreen with long, grass like leaves up to 50cm long. While the flower stems are seldom taller than 30cm, so in order to best see the blooms, you could give the foliage a little trim in autumn.
Winter Iris almost thrives on neglect, perfect for those of us who love to enjoy a beautiful garden without too much work. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil then water to establish.
