Fittonia Flammule

The soft green leaves have dynamic magenta pink lining. As the leaves mature they take on darker green tones. The red veined pattern ranges from pink to red.

The leaf veining gives them the common name of Nerve Plant or Mosaic Plant.

Fittonia leaves form generous clumps that look great in pots. Use a good quality potting mix and plant in a bright light to part shade position. Indoors, patios or backyards are all places that look better with this colourful plant in them.

Simple to care for, simply water them as the potting mix dries out and add a diluted fertiliser in spring. It likes a bit of humidity as it hails from the Tropics.

You could choose to grow Fittonias as small potted plants by increasing the size of the pot and allowing it to grow unhindered, or keep them the current size by pinching the growth. You could even use them effectively in terrariums.
