Dragon's Head is a dry, hardy plant with deep blue, salvia like blooms in summer. The flowers open on upright, red stems. The oval, to heart shaped, aromatic leaves have a rough texture.
Dragon's Head grows well in poor soils and is dry tolerant. It makes an excellent rock garden or ground cover plant and attracts beneficial insects to the garden.
Plant Dragon's Head in a sunny spot, water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Ensure they don't have wet feet in winter.
The leaves of Dragon's Head are used in teas in China.
