Asiatic Lilium 'Mapira' is a stunning, deep purple flower. The striking blooms are almost black, this dark colour serves as a good tool for contrast in the garden, the deep shades will make surrounding colours really pop!
Real conversation pieces in the garden, these Matisse Asiatics are avant garde Lilies of distinction! The petals look like they have been painted by a master and so were named for the Artist who wrote himself into history by breaking all the laws of colour to create genius.
They will take 12-14 weeks from planting to flower.
Asiatic Liliums are hardy cultivars with bright, colourful, upward facing flowers. Stems average 4-8 blooms, their numbers increasing as the bulbs establish. They make excellent cut flowers and are so easy to grow.
Simply plant, your Asiatic Liliums, fertilise and enjoy. Leave them in the ground to establish and they will bring you years of joy.
Choose a humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny location. They appreciate afternoon shade, especially in warmer climates.
Keep Lilies moist while in growth and fertilise at the start of the season and again as the flowers are finishing. Mulch over the summer to help maintain the moisture levels in the soil.
