Double Hippeastrum Aphrodite
Love and beauty.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Layers of white petals with a cheeky red blush. At the edge of the petals is a delicate tracing of red which makes this flower an absolute stand out.
Double Hippeastrums are the triumphant result of years of intensive hybridising, offering twice the petals of the single varieties. These bulbs are surprisingly quite effortless to grow.
Double Hippeastrum are extroverts; their large, eye catching flowers that open on tall, straight stems. The trumpet blooms last well in the garden and also cut for indoor displays. Four to six flowers will open on each stem.
Double Hippeastrums are versatile and grow well in garden soils and in pots. In pots, they can be moved to centre stage when in bloom and hidden behind the shed in winter dormancy (cool climates only, in warmer zones they remain evergreen).
Double Hippeastrums grow best in humus rich, moist, well drained soils. Though well drained is the most important factor. Hippeastrum grow Australia wide, they are semi evergreen and will go dormant in cool climates, where they should be protected from frosts.
It is a good idea to keep Hippeastrums protected from slugs and snails.
