A stunning small tree or large shrub with a heavenly fragrance. The flowers open in their masses. Each bloom is bridal white and fully double. It is easy to grow and care for too, being tolerant of a wide range of conditions. It is the one everyone will ask after as they tour your garden!
The leaves are a nice deep green and turn yellow in autumn before falling.
Double Mock Orange makes a wonderful little shrub for borders or hedging. In summer, the evergreen foliage is covered with fragrant blooms. The simple, double white flowers have a decorative group of golden stamens at their heart. The blooms of Double Mock Orange smell sweetly of Roses with citrus notes.
Double Mock Orange shrubs are quick to establish and rewarding to grow. Double Mock Orange has mid to bright green, serrated leaves that grow to around 11cm. The stems can be cut for the vase.
Plant Double Mock Orange in full sun to semi shade in moderately fertile, to humus rich, well drained soil. Water to establish and then keep moist when in active growth.
The botanical name, Philadelphus is from the Greek for brotherly love.
