Knautia Thunder and Lightning

The variegated foliage is just part of the package, from summer to autumn it is topped with striking, pincushion, burgundy blooms (2-3cm across) which last well in a vase. A great choice for cottage gardens.

The soft green to cream leaves have a darker green, lightning bolt pattern flashing across. Their deeply divided (pinnatifid) leaves add fantastic texture the garden. This combination creates quote a show.

Plant Knautia ‘Thunder and Lightning’ in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Choose a sunny spot for the best variegation. A great filler for the garden, and also impressive in containers. Easy care and dry tolerant, plus the butterflies and bees love the blooms.
