Adorable clusters of soft pink bells to ring in the spring. The first flowers are shorter, at around 5cm, then as they progress they proliferate and stretch to around 20cm. When the flowers have finished the foliage grows taller, to around 30cm.
A wonderful ground cover with heart shaped foliage, which emerges with hints of pink, before maturing to soft green.
Epimediums are surprisingly easy to grow and will thrive in your hard to fill shady spots and work well in combination with Winter Roses. They are a rare find in Australian gardens, and we think that is a bit of a shame because they are so easy and so pretty, you should grab them while you can.
If you take the time to cut Epimediums back in late winter, the new growth will shine through in spring. This is where the foliage comes to the fore, with its fabulous marbling and streaking.
