An exciting new Salvia with strong, compact growth. Early flowering, colouring from late spring, they can repeat into autumn. The upright flower stems are thick with rosy pink florets from dark calyxes. A stand out in gardens or pots.
If you cut Salvia Sallyrosa ‘Jumbo Pink’ back hard around January, then water and fertilise, you will get strong regrowth and flowers into autumn. Alternatively you can simply remove spent flowers as they occur which will also keep them blooming.
The handsome, mid green leaves of Salvia ‘Jumbo Pink’ grow to around 10cm. They have exceptional mildew resistance and good heat tolerance.
Plant this herbaceous perennial into moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Sandy and gravelly soils are very suitable. A sunny position is perfect for this plant. Water well to establish, this takes around four weeks depending on conditions, you need to ensure the roots have reached the surrounding soil before you can leave them to their own devices. Dry tolerant once established.
