Forgiving and free flowering.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
An invaluable groundcover that provides long lasting, easy care, head turning colour from early summer to autumn. A good plant to combine with spring bulbs as it will come into its own just as they are fading.
Geranium ‘'J.S. Matu Vu’ is an easy to flower Cranesbill Geranium which is easy and robust. It grows with vigour, though is never invasive and will cope with a bit of neglect. The decorative, deeply divided foliage forms a neat mound of mid green leaves, that turn bronze-red in autumn before going to ground to re-emerge invigorated for the next season. In fact it gets better year after year. The flowers open over the foliage so are easily seen.
This dynamite Cranesbill Geranium was bred by Belgian nurseryman Jan Spruyt (hence the J.S. - it is Jan as in the Belgian/Dutch for John.
Pronounced Yon). The Matu Vu is derivative of French “Can you see me” it was originally L'as-tu vu but was lost in translation at some stage. It is a G. psilostemon cross with G. endressii.
Geranium 'J.S. Matu Vu’ makes a wonderful ground cover, front of bed or potted plant, where the foliage and flowers will spill and thrill over the side. It is tolerant of most soil types so long as they are well drained.
Plant Geranium ‘'J.S. Matu Vu’ in full sun to light shade and fertilise at the beginning of spring, and again in summer with a prune to keep them blooming into autumn. Keep moist during active growth for best flowers. Once established it will better withstand dry periods.
