(35B) Delphinium Pacific Giants Blue Bird
Vivid blue florets with contrasting white bees.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Delphinium Pacific Giants are tall flowering Delphinium stems with large flowers. The flowers open at the top of straight stems, over leafy, lobed foliage.
Delphinium Pacific Giants have some of the largest Delphinium florets around. A single floret can stretch up to 7cm across. The spikes open from the base to the tip.
The colours of Delphinium Pacific Giants are vivid and have to be seen to be believed. The purples and blues have a depth and clarity to them that isn’t often seen in blooms. In contrast with bees they stand out even more. The white flowers of Delphinium Pacific Giants are sleek and elegant. The pink spikes are pure romance.
Grow Delphinium Pacific Giants in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Add plenty of compost or rotted manure to give the plants the best start. As Delphiniums grow quickly it is a good idea to add fertiliser, this will help them flower to their best potential. Plant Delphiniums in morning rather than afternoon sun for longer lasting flowers.
Ensure you protect your Delphiniums from slugs and snails who find them delicious. Try a dish of beer to tempt them away (snails also enjoy a tipple) or the conventional snail bait.
Delphiniums are best planted in groups of three or more towards the back of a bed or border. Cut spent flowers off at the base to encourage a second bloom in autumn.
