Mauve blue blooms. A laid back bulb that loves the Australian sun. Plant into a free drained soil and fertilise well for fabulous flowers.
ideal in clumps or woven through beds. Gladioli are hardy and reliable flowers that can be timed for a succession of summer colour.
Gladioli bring a dimension of height to your garden and come in a huge array of colours so there is something to suit everyone. The bulbs are easy to plant and don't require a lot of fuss.
Ensure you plant your Gladioli bulbs deeply enough, this will reduce the need for staking. Gladioli like a sunny position and you need to ensure you keep them moist when in flower – this will help the blooms last longer.
Our best tip is to plant the bulbs at weekly intervals. They will take 90-120 days to flower (less time in warmer climates) so you can have a succession of colour through summer.
