Fire engine red flowers aplenty almost year round. Set against bright green foliage, this shrub creates great garden impact.
Iochroma ‘The Burning Bush’ flowers from spring to late summer, and each flower lasts for weeks. They are borne in clusters that hang like elongated bells.
It loves warm conditions and protection from frosts, it hails from the mountainous regions of Ecuador. In cooler climates it goes partially dormant but grows vigorously and flowers well as the temperatures increase in spring time. Cut it right back in this part dormancy for a vigorous, bushy shrub.
Iochroma are related to the Brugmansia and are just as quick to grow and establish.
