Deep crimson flowers unfurl from red buds over dark green foliage. Very free flowering. Weigela 'Eva Rathke' is a more dense and upright shrub than most Weigela.
Each trumpet shaped bloom is around 4cm long. They open in cymes of three or four, late spring into summer.
Weigela are gorgeous, deciduous shrubs with a compact, rounded habit. Grow Weigela as part of a shrub border, or as a specimen plant.
Plant Weigela in humus rich, well drained soil. Choose a full sun to semi shade position.
