Bergenia 'Baby Doll'
Amazing foliage and lasting flowers.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Bergenia ‘Baby Doll’ makes a top ground cover that requires little to no maintenance. The pink blooms open spring to summer on green and red stems. The flowers start out a very light shade, then mature to a deeper pink.
In the ground, it is so versatile, prospering in the toughest spots; try it on embankments, in dry shade, even exposed areas with poor soils, it rarely disappoints.
Bergenia ‘Baby Doll’ will even grow well in pots.
Commonly known as Elephant Ears, Bergenia may have fallen out of fashion but we think they have been underutilised and should make a comeback. Especially with improved forms such as this.
Bergenia ‘Baby Doll’ leaves are around 15cm long and 10cm across with a red edge. In cool weather the leaves take on a bronze blush.
Plant Bergenia ‘Baby Doll’ in any well drained soil in a full sun to part shade position. Mulch with falling leaves in autumn and that is about it! You can remove spent flowers and leaves to tidy in spring but they need nary more care than that.
The botanical name of Bergenia was given to honour German botanist and Doctor, Karl August von Bergen (1704-1759).
