This delightful form of Winter Iris is distinctive with its rich, violet blue flowers. Iris 'Mary Banard' is the deepest blue of all the Winter Iris, with five months of flowers from May to September!
Iris 'Mary Banard' is a tough evergreen with long, grass like leaves up to 60cm long. While the flower stems are seldom taller than 30cm, so in order to best see the blooms give the foliage a trim in autumn.
Iris 'Mary Banard' almost thrives on neglect, perfect for those of us who love to enjoy a beautiful garden without too much work. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil then water to establish.
Iris 'Mary Banard' holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit.
