Delphinium Guardian Blue
Head turning.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Amazing, deep blue and deep purple shades combine with a touch of white in the centre. A winner.
Leading lights in summer borders, Delphiniums provide towers of colour for many weeks. The Guardian Series is more compact as well as being quick to flower. The stems are strong and rarely need staking.
The flouncy flowers open at the top of straight stems, over leafy, lobed foliage, that mounds close to the ground. The floral stems are fantastic for cutting and will last well.
Grow Delphinium 'Guardian Series' in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Add plenty of compost or rotted manure to give the plants the best start. As Delphiniums grow quickly it is a good idea to add fertiliser, this will help them flower to their best potential.
Plant Delphiniums in morning rather than afternoon sun for longer lasting flowers. Ensure you protect your Delphiniums from slugs and snails who find them delicious. Try a dish of beer to tempt them away (snails also enjoy a tipple) or the conventional snail bait. For best impact, Delphiniums are best planted in groups of three or more towards the back of a bed or border. Cut spent flowers off at the base to encourage a second bloom in autumn.
