The emerging, spring foliage has a bronze blush, this ages to a brilliant crimson paired with deep green. The maple, or fan shaped leaves are around 15cm across.
Creamy, bell shaped blooms open for weeks in spring as the leaves are emerging. They last well and open freely.
Grow Mukdenia 'Crimson Falls' in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. As woodland plants they prefer filtered light. The rhizomes will gradually form a clump which will only need to be divided every five years. Suitable for growing in pots.
